Earlier today we received the tragic news that Trish Keenan of Broadcast passed away in hospital following a long battle with pneumonia. On behalf of all the artists at Ghost Box I would like to express our deepest sympathies to Trish's family and to James. Broadcast are our central and primary influence and Trish's passing leaves an immense gap in our world, we owe more than we can say to her friendship and support over the years.
An enormously talented, generous and beautiful visionary has gone on ahead to see the Summerland.
Warp Records have made a statement accompanied by what has now become such a poignant song.
We would also like to reiterate Warp's request for the proper respect of the privacy of Trish's family and friends.

Speechless. Gutted.

ReplyDeleteTerrible, terrible news. Why are all the good ones dying?
ReplyDeleteThe world already seems a sadder, sorrier place without her. x
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else I am sitting here feeling very sad.
ReplyDeleteDrove home tonight listening to Come on lets go and Inside Out.
Pressed the repeat button and kept them playing for the duration of the journey.
I heard about Trish's death earlier today. I've never met her, and I'm not really into all that RIP Captain Beefheart shit that people always seem to put on Facebook but I was completely heartbroken to hear this news. Its just so sad because she was young
ReplyDeleteand was still making great music. That recent Broadcast/Ghost Box stuff is
ace, and as a band they made consistently good records. Broadcast were
one of those bands that turned me onto loads of cool stuff too. It seems weird to be talking about Broadcast in the past tense now. Its just incredibly sad. Rest In Peace x
Terribly sad news
ReplyDeleteI only just heard the news. Simply cannot believe it. Devastated.
ReplyDeletefound this for anyone who missed the repeat of Jonny Trunk's OST show with Broadcast.
